is true its best to put the bottle in the fridge after it's been opned? can it leak / make food smell of poppers?

You can even store poppers in the freezer.
In fact, freezing poppers is a good way to check the strength of different brands - the nitrite itself will not freeze, but any water it has been diluted with will.

Rush PWD and all there other brands are the strongest poppers. Some shabby brands have all kinds of stuff in them. I wrote a post about it -Jake deleted it - he doesn't want any "trouble" dears. Call in Captain Rush
